September Walking Challenge 2013

Options
This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but it’s nice when each month has its own thread.

*** Anyone can join in at any time. The more the merrier, let’s keep each other motivated****

Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in. :)

Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise every day, and keep an eye on each other.

I want to try to keep this mostly to walking or walking type exercising. Treadmills and elliptical are A-OK.

Hope to see some more faces in this challenge; we'll start tracking Sept 1st.

Just joined myfitness pal .... happy to be hear.

Due to excessive weight and muscle pain, walking is the most exercise I can do at the moment
Have in fact been doing it for almost 3 week now - a minimum of 60 mins per day,
and am feeling really much better for it .

    Best of luck to everyone

I have lost 4 stone over the last year & have used walking as my main exercise as running is very uncomfortable for me, it wasn't until I started using the Fitbit I realaised just how far I do walk per day & I am convinced that my walks have played a major part in my weight loss so far.

I have now got to a point where even fast walking 4mph is not getting my HR upto the fat burn level I work to so I have started incorporating steep hills into my walks which is working out just fine so far. I love walking & not only does it keep me on track I find it also clears my mind it's got to be one of the best forms of exercise hasn't it ?.

    Keep walking folks

I did my first Lelie Sansone walk dvd today. I have had this dvd for over a year, but I have never done it before. I really liked it.

I'm definately in again because walking has become such an important part of the new healthy me. I hiked 5 miles on Labor Day with the husband and the dog across rough terrain. Loved every minute of it! I won't be around mfp much this month due to overtime at work and vacation but I'm always here in spirit. Keep counting those minutes and steps and miles everyone!!!!
