Well I looked up burger and chips meals calories and they were scary. Some even up to 2000 calories per serving!

So I set about making my own for just under 500 calories!

500g(1lb) 5% fat extra lean beef mince, one small onion, one beaten egg and salt and pepper mixed in a bowl.
Split into five patty shapes and put in fridge for forty minutes to firm up. Each patty is about 180 cals.
Then grill on high for eight minutes on each side.

I used plain sesame baps (about 200 cals) from the supermarket and added iceberg lettuce, beef tomato and 5g or one tsp of ketchup.

For my fries I peeled and roasted sweet potatoes with a smear of avocado oil. About 100 cals

So delicious and a quarter of the calories. I'm sure I could make further reductions. But it was a great start!

That sounds really nice and great way to reduce the calories. Wondered if you had ever considered burgers made from minced turkey as a beef substitute. Seems to work well in chilli and bolognese
