    JFT 11/26 Sunday
    1) Make root vegetable beef stew for supper / log all food / 64+ oz. water
    2) Walk dog? first day of accumulating snow / PT exercises? really fallen off this wagon
    3) Church service 9 a.m. / bunch of little household chores already done, any more? / clean up coleus planter mess, plus mystery plant (prize at baby shower) and repot as possible / other?

I have had four separate food events in the past eight days, had an overnight stay at my parents' house, logged food for only three days, and walked dog only three days due to travel & weather. For the most part, I limited portions, selected what looked best to me, and ignored the rest. Yesterday was my worst day, didn't control the eating impulse quite as well. I am pleased I have gained only 2# and guessing some of that is water retention. Back to logging!

On the bright side, had wonderful times with family on my and hubby's sides, lunch with a dear friend and lots of good memories. <3 Photo on Thanksgiving, celebrating a Packers victory.

    13. Therapy thoughts: Prioritizing is hard. There is so much that feels important. I need to talk to my parents about later-life plans (particularly assisted living and funeral preferences). I've never been through something like that and would like to know how to go about making arrangements, but I don't really know who to talk to about it. How do you take the hurt out of caring? I get very down and discouraged by people's hurt that is bigger than what I can help. Also sometimes when I get upset it's unreasonable and I know it and that makes me more upset, creating a self-perpetuating cycle. Identify what I want: to have my professional expertise acknowledged and given the respect it deserves, and to be taken as a legitimate authority.

    14. Just for fun: Start sketching dragon on a pile of books, offering one to the armored knight, & banner that reads "Treasure should not be hoarded / It should be shared." Use AI for ideas.

WFTY: Priorities. No exercise this morning, but I'll be making an attempt tomorrow. Today is just about getting back into things.
2020 WFTY: Progress. 2021 WFTY: Persistence. 2022 WFTY: Focus.

Busy holiday, but it went really well. Good food and time spent with family. Had 15 for dinner, it was a tad crowded with the guests spilling over into the living room, but there were no complaints. My little portion of the family went to the tree farm on Black Friday and cut down our Christmas tree. We have cut down a tree every year since the kids were born. We have to do it a little earlier than we used to because of the girls' schedules, but they make time. I actually think they enjoy the tradition.

    incpb67xn613.jpg

Other than that I worked on my gingerbread people for the church Christmas celebration and put lights on the tree. We went retro with colored C9 lights again this year. Not my favorite (I'm a little white lights girl), but the family likes the occasional change.

Havent posted in a few days .. need to make this a priority.
Our thanksgiving was nice .. just hubby and our daughter. But .. our daughter actually sat and ate dinner with us.. something she hasn't done for a long time. So that was nice. Had a nice phone call from our son.. first time in months, so it was great to hear his voice. He is busy, but still.. we are his parents. I get down about this, but trying to look at only positives, and count my blessings.
so today I went to the gym. This has become my favorite thing do to. Now, if only I could control my eating better.

    So jft, monday, 11/27
    1. concentrate on more water. Usually I am thirsty.. not hungry. So drink more water
    2. no snacking after dinner. This is my biggest problem. I do OK with meals.. its the evening snacking.

so I only am setting small goals today.

    JFT 11/27 M
    1) Log all food / 64+ oz. water
    2) PT exercises
    3) Clean up coleus planter mess, plus mystery plant (prize at baby shower) and repot as possible / DUST / declutter family room / review charity requests & plan for Giving Tuesday / read / other?

Coldest weather of the season today and tomorrow, and windy, so wind chills in single digits. Plus need to check out tech school parking lots, since area roads (except major streets) are snow covered and/or slippery from yesterday's snow. Too cold for walking dog 3+ miles. I was hoping to add to my monthly distance as part of Nov. challenge. Sad me & sad dog.

Today got the better of me mentally, physically, and emotionally. Even the smallest tasks on my to-do list seem like too much and I can’t figure out how to prioritize any of it because my anxiety is high and my mood is low.

I’ve never thought of myself as an emotional eater, but I definitely was today - which only made me feel worse from both a physical and mental standpoint. I need to do better tomorrow, but I told myself that last night too.

Fingers crossed that I can get re-situated into this time zone tomorrow morning!
2020 WFTY: Progress. 2021 WFTY: Persistence. 2022 WFTY: Focus.

Didn't go to spin last night, but am probably 7/8 finished with the gingerbread people. I will finish them at the church work day this evening.

Had a doc appointment this morning, and things are not good. BP was slightly high, Cholesterol is scary high, my thyroid is way out of whack and my cortisol levels are high causing me to overproduce insulin. Oh, and the sore on the inside of my lip that has been there for a month needs a plastic surgeon to look at it, as if I have time for that. Will also need to see a specialist about the chronically high cortisol levels. Only good new is that I'm neither diabetic or pre-diabetic. Given the thyroid & cortisol/insulin issues she was not surprised that my weight was up. She is starting me on statins for cholesterol and upping my thyroid meds. Hopefully between that and the specialist I can get back to where I have the energy to exercise again. I miss exercise, but it just drains me for days. Also need to change up the diet and stick more to chicken and fish with less red meat and full fat dairy. It's a bummer, but sometimes necessary.
