Success of the week: My injuries continue to improve a little bit every day. I am extending the lengths of my short walks; good stuff. Oh. Yeah; I am clearly back solidly in both my absolute and my ideal maintenance range!
Struggle of the week: The fact that I'm limping and hobbling after a flat 2.5 mile walk to the post office so much that I had to take a short cut through a muddy field to save a quarter mile is maddening. So is the prohibition from most activities. I'll get through it though!

Successes/Struggles:
I finished 2022 about 2 kg heavier than at the start of the year. Not surprising really, I had a lot more holidays and days out than during the pandemic years. We were away over the New year holiday, weighed in at 51.5 kg on Friday 30th, drove home on Monday 2nd, weighed in at 52.8 kg on Tuesday 3rd! However, I know that I didn’t really gain 1.3 kg (about 3lb) in 3 days, and true enough it fell away quickly once I was home.
Todays weigh in at under 51 kg was a surprise, I’m now back to the weight I was on Christmas Eve. However, I need to keep strict control over the food intake for the next few weeks before we go away again in February. I’m still in the upper end of my maintenance range.

Successes/struggles of the week: Recap of the last year, and the last few years in general. I got my maintenance activity/eating dialed in pretty well from 2018-beginning of 2020. My weight began to creep up in 2020 after March, due to suddenly working from home and not getting the same amount of daily work-related activity, and I was able to counteract that a bit by increasing my daily steps goal and adding in an extra number of estimated calories when eating out/getting takeout. My weight in 2021 and 2022 continued to go up a bit for a few reasons - continued working from home combined with diminishing motivation to work out, which is something that I'm still struggling with (am doing my workouts but usually not putting in 100% effort and/or cutting them short), combined with starting on some medication that has weight gain as a side effect (not able to counteract the weight gain from that), and eating out a lot.
My plan for the upcoming year is to try to get back on track with being motivated for my workouts and get back to the other steps I took to counteract the work-from-home weight gain (stand up more while working, do stairs "workouts" in my building at least once a week, etc.), up my fresh fruit/veg intake, and continue to add extra calories to my estimates when eating out. However, due to the weight gain associated with the medication I'm on, I will be considering adjusting my maintenance range up a bit, as my chosen range is currently at the very lowest BMI end for my height.2 -

Success of the week: Despite a small set-back, I continue to heal. I continue to cook and eat delicious meals. I keep getting daily walks, and my mileage is up enough I'm not necessarily getting a slightly longer walk each day. My weight continues to remain in my goal range, and it's far enough in I am changing that range back to what it was from 2018 - 2020 before "The Big Oops."
Struggle of the week: They (whoever "they" are) say "Go slow to go fast." In this case it's about healing. I'm at the point where I want to do more, but I know I need to keep it moderate so that I don't re-injure myself. So far, I'm managing to do it.

Successes/struggles of the week: It's been a super busy couple of weeks with work. I haven't had much time to get good workouts in unfortunately, though I did manage to have some progress with a couple of my lifts. After having to skip doing one of my lifts that I'd been stuck with over several weeks (skipped it due to lack of time), I somehow managed to exceed my previous number of reps by quite a few this time, and went up in another one that I also was struggling with.4 -

Success of the week: My injury seems to be getting better. I am near the bottom of my maintenance range and might be back to being pretty stable here. I've been walking a lot. I've been eating well. My fitness device recently updated my VO2Max and told me my "Fitness Age" decreased from about 16 years younger than my chronological age to 17 years younger.
Struggle of the week: Nothing related to health, fitness, or weight management, so I won't mention it here.
