I need to lose 55 pounds! So far this year, I've avoided eating junk food, have been counting calories using My Fitness Pal daily, and exercised most days.

    That’s fantastic! My experience has been that after that first successful week, you start to notice all the little (non-scale) benefits if you pay attention.

    You didn’t ask for advice, but thought I’d share something that’s making me happy this time around. (I’ve been back at it for 45 days now after a long while.)…

    Measure your waist! This has kept me going when the scale isn’t moving.

    Keep sticking to it!

    Log all your meals and snacks; stay in a small calorie deficit, and your results will be exactly what you expect. They may not happen WHEN you expect, and if things don't respond at your schedule, just keep sticking to it. Make small changes if you think they will help. Don't try to use too big a calorie deficit. It can backfire and lead to binges. Just keep with it; slow and steady and you can succeed!
