Trulicity woes

I missed 4 weekly doses of Trulicity 3mg/0.5mL because it's on backorder. Finally, my Dr allowed the pharmacy to change it to 1.5mg/mL because that's all that was available, and availability is spotty for that, too. I was pre-diabetic when I started taking this Rx, and it brought my HbA1c within normal limits. I'm not just taking it for weight loss, like so many are; that's why the drug is harder to get now, at any dosage. I need this to keep from becoming pre-diabetic again, and weight loss is a happy side effect. But while I wasn't taking it? Gained back about 8lbs....

Yeah, you can blame Hollywood for the shortage.

What would you like us to say? We can't do much about a drug shortage.

If you focus on the weight loss and some exercise you won't need to take it. Do that. Take back the power.

So I lost 70 pounds through diet and exercise. Regained the weight. Lost 70 pounds again through diet and exercise. Regained the weight. Currently taking Saxenda , I’ve lost 60 pounds so far.

My mindset is so different on the drug than it was when I was losing weight just through diet and exercise. So I think I understand, you’ve become reliant on the drug.

So until the shortage is resolved, you’ll have to change your mindset and focus on diet and exercise.

this class of drugs is meant to be a lifetime commitment. The drugs change your body chemistry, they’re not designed for short term use.
