Custom foods

Is there a limit to how many custom foods you can add to the database? can you stop other people from editing them?
Can you grab customised foods already in the database and edit the macros, and add your own label to it, so it appears in "My Foods"?
Can you add a food so when you scan the barcode, it matches with a food you have already inputted into "my foods" (if that makes any sense)
I have premium if that helps
Just scared the database can't handle every user adding like a thousand of their own food entries.
Thank you!!! :-D

There is no hard limit that I am aware of. Only food items that you choose to share to our database are able to be seen by other users in a search, meaning they would not be able to be edited either. Once a food is in our database, it can be edited by other members and saved to their My Foods list, but your original item will remain in your own list unchanged. Can you grab customised foods already in the database and edit the macros, and add your own label to it, so it appears in "My Foods"?
More or less. You'd want to report a food as "inaccurate", edit the macros, and then choose to save it to your My Foods list. https://support.myfitnesspal.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032622691-Some-food-information-in-the-database-is-inaccurate-Can-I-edit-it-Can you add a food so when you scan the barcode, it matches with a food you have already inputted into "my foods" (if that makes any sense)
In our latest Android, iPhone, and iPads apps, if you scan a barcode that is unknown, you will be given the option to create a public entry in our database for the missing food item. After entering all of the nutrition data, that public entry will be linked to the barcode you scanned.
