Recommended calories don't match between desktop and app

I usually use the desktop version, which set my daily calories at 1800 after I did the guided setup. Then I changed my mind and instead of losing .5 lbs per week, I wanted to see what the calorie limit was for 2 lbs per week. Still 1800. I changed it to GAIN weight... still 1800.
Then I looked at the app for the first time. On there it recommends 1200, which puts me very much over for today if that's correct. I'm not sure which one to believe, but I'm leaning toward the phone app since desktop gives me the same nutritional suggestion no matter what I indicate my goal is in setup.
