New to community

Hi everyone, nice to be here..

A little about me: 56m, from the northeast, starting weight 234lbs, current weight 187lbs, height 5' 10..10 more pounds to go..

I started my weight loss journey 3.5 months ago. Thats when I hit my breaking point and was sick and tired about how I felt, looked, etc..not to mention I went shopping for some new clothes and was shocked at how I went from a large being big on me to a 2XL because the XL wouldn't fit over my stomach..

The next day, after my shopping disaster, I went to the local sporting goods store and purchased some running shoes, a reflective vest, rain coat and a head lamp.. I set my alarm for 4am got up strapped on my running shoes and started power walking. First 2 miles, then 3 then 4.5.....my goal was to start running..well I ran for the first time today, I did 4 miles in 41 minutes...so, it's running from now on, no more excuses..

But not only did I start to exercise I overhauled my diet and my family's diet. No more eating out, nothing but home cooked fresh meals. I found a few website that have some great simple recipes that even I can follow..it's been a huge success with the family, they are totally enjoying all these new fresh meals..

My goal for 2023 is to run a marathon with my son..

I'm here to encourage others as well as for my own encouragement as we all navigate this journey..

All the best..

What a great story! I hope you'll dive into the Community and share your experience, as well as find resources here to improve your support system for your next stages of success.

I've been here for a while (loss then maintenance), and it seems like so many people are hungry for stories that help them convince themselves that change is possible, progress can be achieved, and results can more than reward the effort required. You're a great example of all of that!

    Wishing you continuing success!
