@mthomas0228 Absolutely amazing results! And I agree with what you said about it's not a diet; its about trying to find a healthy lifestyle. Way to go!5

Hi Group,
My name is Ann and I’m 56. This is my first time on this challenge and I’m excited for the inspiration and accountability. I am inspired by transparency even when things go different than expected. I am committed to being here for myself and this group. I appreciate every one of you.

Well I have had a bad cold which meant I was home and sleeping a ton yesterday (it was also -38 Fahrenheit yesterday with the wind chill!!) and when I wasn’t sleeping, I just wanted to snack and snack because I was bored and anxious! Not a great way to start this stretch off but trying to have grace with myself. ❤️6

Hi, I’m a 38 year old female who has inched back up from my healthiest weight about 8 years ago. While I haven’t climbed back to my highest weight (195), I’m uncomfortable with the 170 I have reached after being comfortable at 150 for a while. I would like to lose those extra pounds again. 15 lbs in 3 months sounds reasonable to me.
I will be jumping in a little late so starting today on 2/5/23.

I’m just starting to reverse course so I’m prepared in advance to not see a downward change for at least a month.
Then the weight seems to come off in more than a lb. per week once the body has shifted to catabolism again so I think the 15 lbs loss is still achievable in this time frame.8 -

Good job listening to your body and taking care of yourself by sleeping. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi- I’m Char, a 5’3” 45yr old mom of 3 tween/teens. I have been using MFP for a few years inconsistently. I started at 159lbs in Jan 2018 and lost 25lbs in 8 months. Then maintained until summer 2021. Since then, I swapped around some daily medications and thus my weight fluctuated- going up. Starting 2023, I hit 150lbs — and have recommitted to tracking, weighing and using macros to get that extra weight off. Looking for continued success in 2023. Glad to be here ;-)

CHALLENGE TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS GOAL: Total Loss of 15 pounds to land at 179.8 (seems Impossible, even Laughable but a girl can dream right?)

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
02/01-194.6-(Trend Weight: 196.7)- It’s a short month but I will not lower my expectations for myself. I want the next five pounds gone! That would literally be finding me dipping my smallest pinkie toe into the warm welcoming waters of the 180’s (189.8). What a dream! It’s sink or swim!
02/06-195.6-(Trend Weight: 196.5)- I ate something for the first time last night that I thought I would HATE. Scallops! Even after rinsing they smelled so fishy but I followed the simple and fast recipe and OMGOSH, they were delicious. Thank you Gordon Ramsey for giving me the faith to try. I was having spaghetti squash with a cream basil alfredo sauce and decided I needed to add some protein and had them in my freezer. After a quick thaw in a bowl, they were only 4 or 5 minutes to cook. According to MFP, the 5 small scallops came in at 89 calories and 4 carbs. I will be having them again!

Hello. Time for my weekly weigh in and I lost 1 lb. I'm pretty excited about it. I had some wine and pizza this weekend, but I was consistent with my exercise plan throught the week so it must have helped. And I'm back to tracking calories so that probably helped as well. I haven't lost any weight for quite some time, so thanks to this group for keeping me accountable!

I am Naomi and I am 44 from Vermont! I am 5'3" and looking to lose 10 pounds over the next three plus months. I lift weights 4-5 times per week as well as do cardio. I think I will ramp my cardio up with some HIIT workouts to try to change things up a bit. I would also like to add in 5 minutes of stretching at night before bed to start. Start small and add!

Hi! I'm joining late but I recently found out I have a higher body fat percentage (32%) than I'd like so I'm back to making an effort. I'm 29 with two preschool aged kids. I have metabolic testing from our local fitness center in a few weeks which will help set more accurate calorie goals. I'm 5'6" and 149lbs, my goal is 1750 calories a day to lose .5lb/week. I'm also going to be adding strength training. We moved recently and I fell out of the habit but it really makes my body feel better and helps with some aches and pains. Do you always log exercise? I don't want to have to worry about eating back calories (and possibly miscalculating) but I also feel like if I workout and burn more, then maybe I'll just lose more than .5/week and call it good? I also want to add yoga nearly every day. Of course actually doing it is another story!

I'm MJ, female, 5'4, turning 53 this month. My weight has been yo-yoing up and down the past couple of years but hit an all-time high last April that knocked some sense into me. I've been consistent with my goals since then, but am not being strict, taking it slowly. I am not on a diet but instead working to find the balance of a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable for the long-term.

02/01: 153.7 February is a month I have gained a lot of weight in the past, not this year! Feeling very positive about the start to this month and having this challenge help keep me accountable. Starting the month off doing well with my food choices, stress levels in check, sleep is okay, but need to be more focused on my exercise.
02/06: 152.4 Off to a good start...exercise is back on track. And while I stayed in my calorie allotment, I had too many wine nights last week, so planning on being alcohol free all this week.

I want in, a bit late to the party but I'll enter my weight from 2/1 and post going forward! I'm Heather, 46 years old and I was in the best shape of my life a few years ago while going through and amicable divorce and got down to 128 which looking back was two low. Fast forward to now and I've gained back about 30 pounds after getting remarried, having a baby at 45 (surprise miracle!!!) and now being hypothyroid due to diagnosis of Graves Disease postpartum. Would love to lose 15 by the end of April!!!!

@MrsLaven2015 Welcome! To answer your question about exercise calories, I do not do anything with my exercise in terms of my calories! I lift for ~90 minutes 4x/week plus 1-2x 30+ mins of cardio each week and step count of 7K minimum each day.7

I prefer not to adjust calories based on exercise. Figuring out how many calories you have burned is not an exact science. Better to get your workout in, log it for your reference & keep calories consistent.
If you find you are burning more than .5/week, and are losing the energy to keep up with workouts, then double check that you are tracking calories accurately and that you are choosing options to fuel your workouts.

I’m 5 9’ and my goal for this challenge is to simply get to my last years weight of 147 (or 145 😎) and maintain until next challenge .
I’m currently in my new comfort zone weight, so I need to shake up my habits some more.
Unfortunately my weight fluctuates a lot daily, and I’ve been logging and working out for nearly a month now. It’s a little discouraging with the swings, but I’m trying to avoid thinking this as a diet

This sounds like the perfect group for me to join. I have a long string of successful weight losses in January to include this year again – 11.6 pounds. Here, February through March, is when I need real focus. 15 pounds in three months is a realistic and attainable goal from where I am.
My name is Stormy. I am a 5’3”, 184 pounds, 73-year-old man recovering from a Jan 24th prostate surgery. I’m through the difficult part of recovery and ready to concentrate my efforts on getting back to a healthy weight. My goal is to get at or below 169 pounds by the end of April.
My motivation is to get back to a weight where I can do the things I love to do without putting undue stress on my body. I love to play! Softball, Pickleball, Bowling, and working in my yard are among the things I enjoy playing. I will typically check in with you guys on Sundays. I am excited about finding this group and look forward to hearing your thoughts and successes as we move toward our goals together.
