I love challenges, they really help me stay focused!

    F42, 5'4" highest weight 180.8 June '21

    February Start Weight: 158.0
    February Goal Weight: 152.0
    Ultimate Goal Weight: 140.0

    February 1: 158.0
    February 8: 157.8
    February 15: 155.2
    February 22: 152.8

February 28: 152.8 I fell off the rails a bit over the weekend, which caused a lot of bloat yesterday, so I made sure to drink tons of water and spent extra time at the gym. I didn't quite make my goal for the month, but I'm not surprised as the first 2 weeks were a bit of a struggle. I was under eating and feeling very weak and lethargic, but my body was resisting weight loss. After focusing more on protein, hydration, and beginning strength training, things started to move faster. I'm feeling a lot fitter than I was 4 weeks ago and am getting into the groove with a much healthier routine.

Looking forward to seeing how we all get on in March, thanks everyone for sharing your experiences xx

My name is Donna. I am 62 years old and I live in Michigan USA. I am 5’ 5” tall.

    Start Weight (from January 31, 2022 ): 194.8
Goal Weight: 189.8 (5 pound loss)

    End of Challenge Weight: xxxxx
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

02/01-194.6-(Trend Weight: 196.7)- It’s a short month but I will not lower my expectations for myself. I want the next five pounds gone! That would literally be finding me dipping my smallest pinkie toe into the warm welcoming waters of the 180’s (189.8). What a dream! It’s sink or swim!

02/07-196.6-(Trend Weight: 196.6)- I’ve been so back and forth this week and affected by travel. I’m just not doing any better on my choices in that department (in most cases). The required restaurants are just my weakness that I can’t seem to master most of the time. I’m a work in progress, even after all these years. The pro…..My trend weight is down a touch so I’m hopeful. Trendweight.com is also continuing to show my date to reach my goal weight getting better and better. Now, if I could just have the same faith in myself that it has in me based on my patterns!

02/14-193.8-(Trend Weight: 195.0)- It has been a very good week for me until last night. This weight reflects a good sized bump up after some self-sabotage. Saw a diabetic specialist yesterday and then spent the night doing exactly the opposite of everything they told me. I don’t know why I do this to myself but today and tomorrow will be redemption days. I’m proud of my progress so far and got to keep this engine rolling! It is not just a vanity thing at this point. My health really depends on it at this point.

02/21-192.4-(Trend Weight: 194.8)- After seeing the endo, I saw a dietician this past week who pumped my carbs up from 90 to 190-250. I tried it for 4 days, gained several pounds and my fasting sugar shot up to almost 300 (mine had been running 130-150.) Glucose is not a wait and see. It will IMMEDIATELY tell you if what you are eating is good or bad. I did give it the 4 days, then I promptly put myself back on my own plan that I had carefully crafted after much research and reading. My weight is going back down and so are my glucose numbers. I don’t think I’m going back to the dietician although quite a few sessions are expected. Dieticians are there because there is no one-size-fits-all with people. It is individualized. I tried to talk to her about my aversions with so many foods, my eating disorders, my insulin resistance after being diabetic for over 15 years, what my other doctors have been suggesting and she just didn’t hear me. I knew the increased carbs were suicide for me. I only stuck to it for a few days to prove it. My endocrinologist is giving me 90 days to show better glucose numbers on my meter or he’s putting me on insulin. I couldn’t let this dietician do this when my body’s response was horrid. No time to waste.

02/28-DNW-(Trend Weight: DNW)- I think the fluctuations for no reason (the past two days) got to me more than I realized. Emotional eating all day yesterday during and after travel. Also, the scale was way down in rehab since last week so my typical pattern is to do self-sabotage when I’ve done well. So I’m not sure which one it was but lets not call yesterday an epic fail. Let’s just call it an unexpected “cheat day” and move on. Unfortunately, this happened right at the end of our challenge. To compromise, I will return tomorrow and add in a final weight which will likely be between what it was yesterday and what it was today. So I will see everyone on both pages tomorrow. So….. 5” of snow yesterday and I was caught in the white out slipperies trying to drive home. It was Devil-awful. 4 more inches last night. Did someone say spring soon?

    January Highest W: 138.0 January Lowest W: 131.0 (7 lb range)
    February Highest W: 135.8; February Lowest W: 125.2 (10.6 lb range)

    February GW: 128

February diet goal: No alcohol, added sugar, processed foods.

    2/1 133.8
    2/7 129.0
2/11 - 2/19 Don't weigh for nine days. Under maintenance calories and strength training.
2/20 128.2 Measurements show that muscles went up and fat went down.
    2/21 125.2 That's some whoosh!
2/28 128.8 This has been a highly successful month of fat loss and muscle gain. I'm not low on carbs rights now, not dehydrated, and not feeling sluggish. So a solid end of the month! I don't have much fat left to lose so my focus is shifting to muscle building to increase my metabolism and let the healthy diet stay around maintenance calories. Congratulations to all!

Heaviest weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
Original MFP starting weight (January 2018) - 168.2
    January 28 (Starting Weight): - 139.8 (10-day average 141.7)
February goal - Maintain current weight
    Ultimate goal - Range between 139 - 148

I report scale weight and (ten day average weight), and I post on Saturdays.

    January 28: 139.8 (10-day average 141.7)
    February 4: 142.6 (10-day average 140.4)
    February 11: 140.4 (10-day average 140.5)
    February 18: 139.0 (10-day average 140.3)
    February 25: 138.4 (10-day average 140.3)
    February 28: 139.4 (10-day average 140.1)

Total loss for February I had a good month. I've been maintaining just fine. My ten-day average weight stayed within a 0.7 pound range. I am near the low end of my maintenance range, so if I go up I won't be too upset; I kind of expect it will. If I stay this low for another month and I still feel healthy and well-fed, I might revise the goal/maintenance weight down.

Just turned 69, 5'6" with my only child's wedding happening about 7.5 months from now. (Think, Game of Thrones' "Winter is coming" only substitute "Photographer is coming")

What a month! Found out I have gallstones, including one that's impacted and partially blocking a duct...surgery ahead, but for now it really focused my attention on getting as much fat out of my diet as possible. My heart was shocked back into rhythm last week, so that was successful, but now it gets interesting as I suspend the blood thinner medication (which prevents stroke from the recently diagnosed afib) so I won't bleed out during the non-laproscopic surgery :)

But...I did not regain any of the weight I've lost, even though I had to suspend the physical activity that had become part of my daily routine. So, that's a win.

Well, between traveling and not tracking my food for a number of days in February, it definitely impacted my weight. Still within my goal weight zone, so that is good news.
