Calculated automatically My base goal for calories was 2190, I think this is too much to meet my goal of losing 16 lb in 60 days, I am 200 right now adjusted this to make it 1600 as I feel sure that will be enough calories for me per day. It was easy to do and I was wondering if anyone else did this. I lost .6 lb in 2 weeks! Yah! Randy McHugh

The suggestions can be high so it’s best to figure your own. 2 people with the same stats and same training regimen can have vastly different calories needs due to their NEAT differences.0

So...you 'feeling' like the amount of calories calculated for you is too few or too much doesn't really matter. And the fact that you say you can eat less and it feels fine can also be misleading....especially if your hunger cues are messed up.
What I'd suggest in order to figure out if the goal that MFP suggested was accurate or not is to use another source of calculating it (or two other sources, and then averaging those numbers to see what makes the most sense). You can also use a TDEE calculator or there is one called Sailrabbit that calculates TDEE with multiple formulas and the answers you get might range quite a bit.
In my experience for myself...the MFP estimate for me for maintenance is too low though. The only reason I know that is that I've logged my food/exercise calories for enough time to know that if I only ate what MFP told me, I'd likely slowly lose weight. A TDEE calculator is also just an estimate and ultimately you have to go by what it says on the scale (or how you feel or how your clothes fit...etc.)....MFP or a TDEE calculator or whatever just gives you an *estimate* and you have to adjust up or down based on your own results.2 -
Nope. I had to increase it. I lost weight eating quite a lot more than the app suggested 🤷♂️0

Much will depend on your counting accuracy and choosing the entries that are accurate.1
