Wow that a big loss congrats. Just be careful not to lose too much. What’s your height and weight?

That's a pretty good clip. Almost 1lb a day vs the more traditional 1-2lb a week!

Or a more technically oriented 0.5% to 1% of bodyweight per week with a deficit not exceeding 25% of your actual total daily energy expenditure while above the midpoint of the overweight range.

Which leads me to conclude that you've started On December 31 as a fairly hefty and goodly sized person! Who is also relatively speaking active.

I didn't start my weight loss by logging on MFP. I started my weight loss as I always did in the past. Something along the lines: I can't keep going on like this. I've got to give SOMETHING a try.

This time I started along the lines: I've got to not be as sedentary as I was. And once that worked, it became: let's try and lose some weight by making better food choices. By the way: the better food choices were marginally better; but objectively not very. Lot's of "hearsay" as to what was a better food choice. But little actual vetted reading and comprehending. To, a good ten months in: OK: I've got to eat the least I can while increasing my activity and exercise to the most I can.

Which got me to losing at just about the pace you're describing! Which was great! And thinking: you know this is working. Which is great. But I really don't see myself continuing like this for the rest of my life. And as soon as I stop I will regain all the weight I'm losing like I always do. Losing is not enough and I won't be able to go on like this. I've GOT to do something different if I want to actually keep the weight off.

In fact I was in danger of giving up while not even recognizing that I was "ratcheting" and that the ratcheting itself was one of the many problems with my successful effort to that point.

Which was when I discovered MFP. And then I read some of the stickies and threads in the forums. And a few other things. And went on to lose another 72.5lbs over the next 365 days. And another 11.1 lbs over the next 365 days.

Which brought us to a bit more than six years ago and 156.9lbs. Since then my weight trend has been anywhere from a low of 150.8 to a high of 164lbs.

Don't be afraid to adjust your rate of loss. Sustainability of effort is what's going to get you to the normal weight range. And sustainability of effort and many new habits are what's going to help keep you there.

It's not worth the effort. It's not working well enough. I am not being rewarded for my effort. i should see a bigger loss. All these are just indications that you should make incremental changes and ADJUST; not quit or revert.

This great start is awesome. Don't be afraid to seek sustainability when you need to.
