Connecting fitbit shouldn't be so hard

On the desktop website, it shows fitbit as connected and selected for step counting.
On the android app, it shows fitbit as connected but under steps a box is checked saying "don't track steps". It is impossible to uncheck this box. This is NOT selected on the website.
I have unlinked and relinked and unlinked and relinked and restarted phone, installed apps, etc. Nothing works.
Very very very poor integration. Get a developer with a better understanding of API's.
