A Little Fitness Progress

I admit it, I've gotten much weaker with the passage of time and the past few months have made a concerted effort to start reversing some of my age related lean muscle mass loss.
In addition to the general improvements in strength one of my goals is to be able to do proper pull-ups again. Long story short at 67 I started including assisted pull-ups 3 x weekly (5 sets / 5 reps) as part of my strength program. In 6 weeks I've gone from 130 lbs assist to 85. I'll be happy if by the end of the year I can do a couple of sets of 5 unassisted.

Nice. It's all about progress.
Try some inverted rows too. Depending on your leg position it's about half your bw. I use it as a warmup before pullups, laying on the floor and reaching up to my dip handles. Or maybe you can use a firm table.
For the pullups, focus on the negative. Use something to get into position, and do a slow negative to full extension.3
