Hello! I have successfully done keto and lost 45 pounds. However, life happened and I gained 30 back. I have been trying to do keto and will stick to a strict keto for several weeks and my ketones on my blood reader show I never reach ketosis. I wanting to try just a low carb diet (50g carbs) but I do not know how many grams of fat and protein I should do. Any recommendations? I am in the keto mindset that if I have too much protein it will turn to sugar. So I do not know what to set my macros to for a low carb diet, not keto.

Hello! Here is a site I found to calculate macros. I did keto also and gained it all back and then some. Good luck! https://www.calculator.net/macro-calculator.html?ctype=standard&cage=36&csex=f&cheightfeet=5&cheightinch=2&cpound=168&cheightmeter=180&ckg=65&cactivity=1.465&cgoal=l1&cmop=0&cformula=m&cfatpct=20&printit=0&x=99&y=26

Multiply your body weight in pounds by .36, or your weight in kilograms by .8. That’s the standard recommendation for how many protein grams to eat each day. Many MFPers eat more than that, and have lost weight. Whether or not those grams convert to sugar… does it matter? Is there some scientific reason that it’s a big deal?
Carbs: Also don’t matter for losing weight, though you may find that protein and fat satisfies your hunger better. I personally get about 35 percent of my calories from carbs.
Advice you didn’t ask for: Break your own rules. Weight loss happens when you eat fewer calories than you burn, regardless of where the calories come from. Enjoy what you eat, just eat less.3 -
Protein turning into sugar, which is referred to gluconeogenesis isn't going to prioritized excess protein in a ketogenic diet to glucose, so stop worrying about that, regardless, not having ketones in your blood isn't going to stop weight loss, that's dictated by total calories. Anyway for low carb, consume around 1.6-1.8 g's/kg of body weight and keep that a constant number regardless of how many calories you decide to consume and eat 100g's or less of carbs and the rest in fat. good luck, cheers.1

The only diet that will work long term is one you can stick to. The fact that you are only using KETO to lose weight and not as a permanent lifestyle diet tells me that KETO isn't right for you. There is no magic to KETO for fatloss anyway. It's more satiating for some and those people end up taking in fewer weekly calories.
Fatloss is a product of a consistent weekly calorie deficit and nothing more, regardless of macros.
