Future Ann needs to be healthy and happy, so I can't let current Ann go overboard with trivial immediate hedonistic excess. Somewhere along the line, this became viscerally real to me.

If only it had fully happened before I hit around age 60 . . . but better late than never.
  • Nothing motivates me regarding weight loss. Absolutely nothing. If I had waited for motivation to loss 45 pounds it never would have happened. I hate dieting. So I just made it as easy as possible. Small tweaks at first and the weight started to come off. Then a few more. Then a few more. Lots of plateaus along the way. It was just a strong desire not to be fat any more.

I think action comes before motivation. Once you get the ball rolling, the results become motivational for me.

The key is to just take action now. Don't wait until Monday or tomorrow.

Count what you are eating at the moment without changing anything. Then start making changes to try to get closer to your MFP calorie target.

Start exercising in whatever way you enjoy. Don't do it necessarily for weight loss but do it as a tribute to your heart. Start with 5 minutes of exercise and once that becomes a habit, increase the duration.

    Start small and start now.

Health is a motivator. I really dont want diabetes, thank you.
And, I would love to weigh less than my husband. 17 kilos to go!
