breaking a plateau?

i started logging on mfp a month ago on august 1st. since then i've lost fourteen pounds, but for the past week and a half i've been sitting at the exact same weight and i'm not sure what's going on. i'm on day 6 of the 30 day shred. i was going on short brisk walks everyday before i started the shred, but i stopped. planning on starting walking again today and see if that will help me out, but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know! it's very frustrating to go from losing 2-3 pounds a week to losing none so quickly :(

A week and a half is not a plateau. Give it more time.

Also, are you eating back your exercise calories? If not, you may want to try that.

Good news! It's not a plateau.

You've lost 14 lbs in a month, roughly 3 lbs a week. That is great progress, in fact perhaps a little faster than is ideal for most people. Weight isn't linear, so you won't see a consistent loss each week. Some weeks will be more than others, some weeks you'll sty the same, and some weeks you may even unexpectedly gain a pound or two. Your weight fluctuates constantly for lots of reasons, including water retention from excess sodium, water retention from more carbs than usual, water retention from changing your exercise routine, hormonal fluctuations etc. You need to look at the overall trend over weeks and months - as long as that's going down, you're fine.

Hopefully you're also taking measurements so you can see changes there. That can help keep you motivated when the scale isn't playing along. Progress photos too!

It isn't really considered a plateau unless you're not seeing any progress in weight or measurements over several weeks or longer.

I'm the same. Ive been at the same weight for over 2 weeks now. But it could be water or hormones. I started upping my cals 3 days ago. I think this will do the trick!

I also plan to eat a bowl of home made lentil soup a day. Maybe some " healthy " cals will help this along!
