Menstrual cycle much shorter after weight loss

I'm wondering if it's just me. I used to be pretty regular, getting my period every 30ish days. But it's two months in a row now that I pretty much ovulate and AF comes right away. I always tell when I ovulate because I've had horrible cramps ever since I did IVF 8 years ago... but now I ovulate and pretty much the next day my period comes in.

I guess it's a good thing I don't want to get pregnant... but it's just really odd. My period is much lighter than it used to be (huge understatement, it used to be awful) and I'm not cramping, which is awesome, but does it happen a lot? I'm planning on seeing a GYN soon anyway, but I'm just wondering...

I'm 35, never been pregnant, and not on any kind of birth control because my body never tolerated the pill and frankly I don't really need/want to get on it anyway.

I was wondering the same thing too lately. I use to be pretty irregular, but after losing nearly 20lbs I have been getting regular with a lighter and shorter cycle. I would always cramp the first day or two (nothing major) but lately I haven't even been taking Tylenol on my first day. If this is a side effect of weight loss, I'll take it.
