I want to start fresh as of today so is there a way to delete all previous data for a fresh start?

There is not currently a data reset feature available for the program. We will definitely consider making this option available in a future update.

Our recommended option is to reset your starting date, weight and goals. As an alternative, you may delete your account and start over, but doing so will delete all of your information, and will require you to chose a new username.

You may access either option on our website at www.myfitnesspal.com. Mobile app users should log in using the same email address and password they use in the app.

Once you've logged in, If you would like to delete your account, click "My Home" then "Settings" then "Delete Account." Please note, if you are a Premium member, you will need to wait until your subscription ends before deleting your account, as Premium subscriptions are non transferable from one account to another.

If you would prefer to update your profile, click "My Home" then "Settings" then "Update diet/fitness profile" to set a new starting weight and goal weight.. Make sure you hit the green "Update Profile" button at the bottom of the page.

Any chance we’ll be able to delete all past data without creating a new account anytime soon?

Since the iOS update with the new tab bar, the app has become unbearably slow—taking seconds to respond to simple navigation taps. People on Reddit suggest this might be due to having a large history, and I have been using MyFitnessPal for years now. Without a way to clear old data, my only option is to create a new account.

It’d be great if MyFitnessPal improved performance for customers with lots of data—or at least offered a way to clear history without starting over.

    No plans right now.

I would also take those Redditor's opinions with a pretty hefty grain of salt; I don't think that's accurate at all.

Have you reached out to our support team for help with this? To reach our support team for assistance, please visit https://myfitnesspal.zendesk.com/hc/en-us or email directly to support@myfitnesspal.com

    Well, my report is accurate!

On my iPhone 15 Pro with 5+ years of MyFitnessPal data, launching the app and tapping Diary (because there's no way to set Diary as default) takes 1–4 seconds to load. It's also slow going back to Dashboard. Once I've navigated to both tabs, switching back and forth will be fast…that is until I do something else or leave the app and return to MFP. Then it'll respond slowly again.

I haven’t contacted support because I doubt they'll have a fix and will likely suggest reinstalling, which I’ve already done.

But if you think there’s a chance they can fix this, I’ll give it a try.

I believe that you're experiencing that; what i'm saying is we don't actually know if that is what is causing the issue. That's why it's better to go to our support team and troubleshoot than it is to go to Reddit and start hypothesizing. Please do reach out- we can't help you if we don't know you're having problems.

You probably will be asked to reinstall again- but there's a reason we ask for you to do that. We wouldn't waste our time on suggesting it if it wasn't worthwhile, or if it didn't work. If that doesn't work, then you let us know and we move on and try other things from there. That's how it works. Hope that helps!

I reinstalled (again) but no improvement. And yes, I submitted a ticket right after my last reply and am awaiting a response.

But I disagree with your take on doing one's own troubleshooting. In my experience, Googling or using AI chatbots to find solutions is usually faster and more effective than going through a company's support channel (with a few exceptions). Reddit especially is a great resource that has helped me solve countless issues immediately, without having to wait days to get something resolved, if they can resolve it at all. The exceptions are indie devs and Slack, 1Password, and Apple, who all have great support.

I've contacted MyFitnessPal support in the past with mixed results. And since this more of an annoyance than a big issue like a crash, I didn't think it was worth going that route.

That said, I've followed your advice and reached out to MFP support. Let's see if they can help!

After deactivating my old account, I am seeing it. Shouldn't the profile go away? Thanks
