Second Week

I lost about 2 pounds my first week and am thrilled with that. Today I really focused on eating at the low end of my calorie range (1600) because I normally eat much more (obvs) and have trouble staying under 1900. I have about 30 pounds to lose to get out of the obese BMI range and then another 40 before I’d be at my ideal weight. Boy that’s a lot. Wish me luck!!

Welcome to the community, and congratulations on a successful first week.

It sounds like you're trying to stay between 1600 and 1900 calories. If 1900 is your maintenance calories, then anything below that and you'll still lose, just at a slower rate than with more of a deficit. Slower is usually better in the long run, so it's good that you aren't trying to rush things.

Many people find their loss is faster right at first and then slows down, so don't be upset if the rate does decrease. Just keep sticking to it, and don't get frustrated with yourself or your results. Success awaits if you just stick to it.

I'm not wishing you luck; it's not about luck. It's about building good habits that you can continue indefinitely. Instead, I'll wish you SUCCESS!
