Hoe does MFP come up with the goals for what you need per day as far as fat, protien, sugar, etc.? I'm just starting to pay attention to those things and I just want to make sure that I have my settings the way they should be.

For instance, right now it says my goal for the day is 25 grams of sugar. How do I know that is what is reccomended for me?0

The macro goals (protein/carbs/fat) are based on how you set your calorie percentage goals. The default is based on USDA recommendations, but most find that protein level is lower than optimal, especially while dieting and being active.
This is the preferred method for most: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets
As far as sugar, it's based on the recommendation for ADDED sugar, but MFP does not distinguish between natural and added sugar, so it doesn't mean much really. Unless you have a medical reason to track it, ignore it.0 -
Thank you! That is very helpful and just what I was looking for :flowerforyou:0
