Started developing some hip bursitis from running so I've been mixing in some Elliptical to give it a rest. Starting physio this week. Super annoying. Other than that, had a great week. Lost another pound and a half.

Success of the week: I got back to the gym after a few months recovering from injury. I had only been back to swim since COVID; this time I did some strength work, and I wisely did a much lower-key workout my first visits. I still got in a swim, and I'm looking forward to adding that back to my routine.
Struggle of the week: Maybe it was the swimming or lifting, but I've been HUNGRY and giving in to it. Weight is up a bit, but still well into maintenance range. Scale weight is a two-day blip up, but still middle of maintenance range, and average weight will track behind it. I'm OK with where I'm at, just need to be vigilant so it is just a re-feed and not a re-gain! Going to the gym sure cut in to my walking and hiking time, so that's a little bummer.2 -

Struggle: I am at plateau of 1 lb over goal. It doesn't sound too serious but it has been 3 weeks now and it seems stuck. I'm not sure how to fix it. Usually if I just knuckle down and make sure I log everything and stay within planned calories, I float back to just below goal weight. Not this time. The only thing different is that I have increased my fluids. I'm wondering if I was dehydrated and it isn't fat but water.
Success: I am paying attention, not drifting.3 -

In maintenance since August 26, 2018
Under Normal BMI Aug 4, 2018 through Aug 15, 2022.
Nov 1, 2022 Now over my Normal BMI 9 pounds to lose to get back into it.
Since Nov 19, 2022 Back under Normal BMI!! so basically I was overweight for 3 months of 50 months. That’s a success for me.
Maintenance weight range: 150-159.9 “In the 150’s” This gives me about >5 lbs before I hit Overweight BMI.

Successes:
1. ALL of my recent battery of medical labs & tests are EXCELLENT. I’m fit & healthy.
Except my BMI is up over 24.9.
2. I finally began taking my measurements weekly. I was able to compare them a few 2019 numbers & I remembered again how much my inches/clothing sizes improved as I got to 150-155. This has been motivating me.
3. Think of my 10K steps, tracking, and calories as “My Job” now. Walking first thing each day. 3 meals + 1 optional snack.
Struggles: My 5-year Maintenance Anniversary is 6 months from today. I remember reading that maintaining the first year is difficult, but there are still challenges at 3 yeas and 5 years. I promised myself I would “stay the course.”
I need to lose ~4 (Now SIX lbs) in 6 months.
1 lb per month. Currently, I’m gaining 0.8 per week.
My PLAN:
1. Not yet, but calories are lower - tracking all
reduce my calories per day down by 400 calories & check again in one week.
2. ✅no jam, regressed on hot choc.
3. Reduce “sugar” items (nonfat hot choc) to smallest size & only use fruit only jam.
3. ✅One birthday meal (already scheduled) &
Then go back to no take out/restaurant foods for March April May June
4. ✅I love my daily breakfast. Same thing each day. Love it. Now, I need to design/create a lunch & a dinner that I love just as much. I have tried to do this for a long time, but now I NEED to.5 -

Successes:
Finally got my weight down consistently below 50 kg and March is a quiet month – no holidays, just a couple of days out.
Struggles:
Reduced mobility is reducing my general activity levels as well as making exercise difficult. However, I have an appointment with a surgeon next Friday and will hopefully get a hip replacement within a few weeks. Then the work begins!

@MadisonMolly2017 , I'm with you on the continuing struggle even after the first few years. I'm coming up to 4 year anniversary and I still log my intake every day. I gained about 2 kg (nearly 5 lb) in the last couple of months of 2022 - holidays! - and I have just now got back to my preferred 49 kg.2

Successes/struggles of the week: Continuing the trend of staying relatively stable/within my maintenance range. Still at the top of my range in terms of average weigh-ins throughout the week, though on individual days, I have had some lower weigh-ins in the mid-111 range. Again, I'm attributing my progress to the second (very part-time) job that I've started which has me on my feet for several hours on one day during the weekend, and during the week doing prep work.2 -

You always inspire me & I’ve been following your recent months. Congratulations!!!!
I wish you luck with your hip replacement & your recovery. 🌷🌷
I know you will do great.🌷🌷
(I was surprised that you needed one as you swim, bike etc so frequently throughout each day. Is there anything I should be doing to hopefully avoid needing a hip replacement?
Thank you for your message & for being on this journey with me.
I know we are both in it for the long haul!
YAY!
♥️
Maddie
PS I also track all. I can see what impacts my lab results & adjust!

3. ♥️Done. Large salad for lunch or dinner. Drizzle olive oil & basalmic. Grilled chicken/fish & veg for the other meal.
4.♥️ Substituted homemade very low sugar mocha for Starbucks hot chocolate. Eating no other foods with sugar
5♥️ Reduced salt
6. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Boosted my daily steps dramatically to almost 11K. Left Achilles is not happy. Possibly from carrying package to post office.

Success of the week: I think this is my seventh week back truly in maintenance after the two year "oops" before which I had maintained for two years. I am right in the middle of my maintenance range and pretty much at what I'll call "goal weight."
Struggle of the week: Dealing with a financial institution that for almost a month won't get me some corrected paperwork to file taxes. I did speak to the IRS on Friday and can move forward; the IRS will go after the financial institution and not me if there are errors, so maybe I turned the struggle into a success.

Mar 27Successes:
I remember reading that maintaining the first year is difficult, but there are still challenges at 3 years and 5 years. I promised myself I would “stay the course.”

= up 0.1 lb for the week
Getting exercise back up.
My PLAN:
1. ♥️No restaurant meals Mar April May June
2. ♥️I love my daily breakfast. Same thing
each day. Love it. Substituted strawberries for fuji apples. Reduces sugars & calories & better nutrition
3. ♥️Done. Large salad for lunch or dinner. Drizzle olive oil & basalmic. Grilled chicken/fish & veg for the other meal.
++ BABY CARROTs Mandarins
4.♥️ Substituted homemade very low sugar mocha for Starbucks hot chocolate. Eating no other foods with sugar. Working
5♥️ Reduced salt
6. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ Boosted my daily steps dramatically to almost 11K. Left Achilles is not happy. Possibly from carrying package to post office.

Sorry, how sad, @lesdarts180
Success/Struggle: Last week, I said that the dip in weight was an anomaly because I didn't follow the plan so should not have lost weight. This week, I did better on my plan and went back up. I know it must be a coincidence but I have been trying to drink 3 extra glasses of water day and my weight was up. I missed a few days, then my weight went down, I got back on track with the water and my weight went up again. Weird.1 -

Successes/struggles of the week: My average weight continues to trend downwards towards the middle of my range. I think that once I'm back in the middle of my range, I'll reassess my range again and whether I should change it. My increased activity with longer hours on my feet has contributed to the downward trend. However, with a lower average weight, some of my lifts have stalled or decreased.0 -
