Hi I am new and waw wondering the best route to take for leaning out and adding a bit of muscle. Should I maintain weight and just use a workout routine and eat clean?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

How much fat do you have to lose? Are you a new lifter?
You're talking about recomp, i.e. small calorie deficit, lift progressively, hopefully lose fat and build muscle. That works best if you're quite overweight and are a new lifter so you get the noob muscle gains. OTOH, if you're close to lean and not a new lifter, then it will be a slow process, and you'd be better off focusing on either fat loss or muscle gain at any given time. In your case that could mean focusing on losing ten or so pounds, I'm guessing, then switch to a small calorie surplus and focus on muscle gain.
What equipment do you have access to?
You'll want to track your lifting progress and progressively add more volume and intensity, and target at least 150g protein daily.0
