so i got a chicken teriaki wrap from subway today. and i always thought that wraps were healthier than getting a sub but it said the wrap had 480 cals and in the wrap there was just chicken tomatoes andblack olives no cheese or dressing.
but it said that a 6 inch sub only has 370 cals with the exact same stuff on the sandwich.
can anyone explain this to me?

The terriaki sauce. Probably lots of sugar in it.0

ya but the chicken teriaki sub has the same sauce on it but its still less than the wrap.0 -
I think it comes down to the ingredients used in the wrap versus the bread. There's the same amount of 'bread' in each (regular bread gets puffy because it rises... without yeast it looks just like a tortilla). I believe banks mentioned that subway uses low fat, low sodium bread. I'm not sure if there is such an option with the wraps for them to use.0

It's the wrap itself, the bread that subway uses actually is lower carbs/calories than the wrap.0

wraps actually have a lot of calories in them, but they are pretty healthy...... I don't know if that makes sense or not in this case... I do know that the large wraps I use at home have 160cals in them......0

your both right i looked up the cals in the bread and the wraps have 310 cals and even the italian herbs and cheese bread only has 250 so i guess i though i was doing better by getting a wrap when i really wanted a sub but would have been better off getting what i wanted how ironic.:laugh:0

This surprises me! I would have gotten the wrap thinking it would be less calories. Thanks for the info! I will get the bread and be guilt-free from now on!0
