New to fitbit flex, help needed!

I bought a fitbit flex today and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed trying to figure it all out. If you have one, when do you sync with your app or does it automatically sync during the day? When I run, do I log it here on MFP and then the fitbit will adjust it later?? Please give any helpful info/input that you can. Thanks!!!

It syncs automatically. It creates a log in your exercise diary that says "Fitbit calorie adjustment".

If you want to you can still log your exercise on MFP, the calories you log on MFP override the Fitbit calories. Plus if you feel the adjustment is incorrect, you can remove it from your diary.

I sync when I get back from the gym in the morning so it will adjust my calories on here and give me an estimate of what I can eat that day.

If you sync, I would not log your exercise on here, the Fitbit does that for you.

I log my food on MFP, because the food database is a lot better, it still shows up in the Fitbit app. Just pick one way of logging and stick with it so you don't double log foods or forget.

Also I found if I put mine on my left wrist and tell it it's on my dominant hand, it is more accurate for me.

I take it your right-handed. Why do you feel it's more accurate that way???

    Yes and yes.

I was crazy enough to walk around with it synced to my phone and see if the steps were registering correctly :).

It had too many when I had it on my right wrist, and just the right amount on my left.
  • Sweet! Thanks :-)
