huge difference in the strength of the shell as well (which tells you about the health of the chickens). Try cracking one then a store bought! Our chicken's eggs sometimes I have to hit twice to break.0

I love the farmers market, it is fun and everything is so much fresher. I was thinking about going to the farmers market later in the week.......0

And the bread you get there - at least at mine - has no fat, preservatives or sugar!0

seriously!
i get farm fresh eggs through my csa; because i ride a bike i was a little unsure about transporting them home (it's about a 6 mile ride through pothole-laden urban streets.
i have NEVER had a broken egg from my farm fresh varieties. bonus: i keep the shells for my compost bin.
edit: also, hard boiling farm fresh eggs is always a win. the shell comes off easily and in huge chunks.0 -
I LOVE getting grapefruits from the Farmers' Market......and fresh salsa ingredients! Mmmmmmm :bigsmile:0

I agree! I buy everything at the Farmers' Market, including my cheese, milk, coffee, bread, eggs, veggies (potatoes, squash, tomatoes, onion, garlic, corn, carrots, eggplant), fruits (blackberries, peaches, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon), and meat. The quality of the ingredients is amazing compared to store bought products. I love that I can ask questions and talk directly to the person behind the scenes. My dairy farmer has even invited me to his farm to milk the cows - ha!
Funny enough, I spend at least HALF of what I used to spend at the grocery store. It keeps you from buying unnecessary garbage, like sugary cereals and frozen meals!
I wish all towns/cities had Farmers' Markets and that families were better educated about the quality of food available there!0 -

ironically enough, when you live out in the country you have less access to farm fresh produce! No farmers markets around here, but you do usually have more neighbors with produce, room for a garden (unfortunately does not churn out as much as I'd like!), and sometimes farm stands etc - but they're the typical watermelon / tomatoes / etc - not the meat and dairy and all... of course, we have a cow we're waiting to fill out and we'll have all the grass-fed steroid-free beef we cans shake a stick at... but, just funny that in the city theres fresh produce right nearby at the farmers market and in the country you have to really look for it or drive a really long way.0
