Bulking with MFP

Hi, I'm new to MFP, and wondering if I can use this for a bulk? I'm roughly trying to get 3000-3200 calories per day to put on some weight. I was wondering if i could adjust the app to where it will tell me how much protien i need and such. Like i know i need 1 gram per lb. When i use the app i'm always in the surplus like it tells me i need 2800 calories, however I'm getting 3k or more cuz of my fast metabolism. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any prior experience for bulking using this app.

    Of course you can, MFP is a calorie counter... Just use it to keep track of the total daily calories. The macro split it suggests, it is way off tho... So use an online calculator for that, something like this http://iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

    I would not use the MFP suggested macros. If you are bulking, look to get at least 1g protein per lb of LBM - and actually per lb of BW would be better as a cya.

    ETA: To change the MFP settings go to My Home -> Goals-> Change Goals-> click Customize and update the macros.

    What Saruk2sf said is absolutely correct. I've recently adjusted mine for bulking purposes.
  • yeah thanks, i changed my macros to fit what i needed to accommodate on a daily basis. with 3200 calories..

    Can I add any of you guys/girls for food ideas while bulking? i'm up to 3250 a day and always interested in food concoctions and better ways to eat my calories (oats get boring after a couple of weeks)
