    Kind of none of the above, in my case? If maintenance = plateau, then sure, plateau. ;) Strength? OK for a li'l ol' lady who doesn't do a lot of explicit work in that direction, I guess.

    Since it looks like you're new to the Community, one caution: If you open up that thread and see old posts, that doesn't mean it's all antique. Like any thread here, new posts are at the end on the high-numbered pages, and you can jump straight there with the page-number/arrow clicks near the bottom of the page. There have been posts this month, so it's still active.

    Here in the Health and Weight Loss section, you're more likely to be talking mostly to people whose primary - maybe only - focus is fat loss.

    At 70 I'm adding more muscle and increasing strength successfully, kind of an important metric as we get older.

    From New Year's to the end of March, I lost 10 pounds. Now with the start of April, I'm switching gears to preferably add some muscle (small bulk only, max gain of 10 pounds back to where I started the year, just with more muscle instead of fat).
