    Total weight lost: 70-78lbs
Time it took to lose: 2-2/3 years

In maintenance since August 26, 2018

Under Normal BMI Aug 4, 2018 through Aug 15, 2022.
Nov 1, 2022 Now over my Normal BMI 9 pounds to lose to get back into it.
Since Nov 19, 2022 Back under Normal BMI!! so basically I was overweight for 3 months of 50 months. That’s a success for me.

Maintenance weight range: 150-159.9 “In the 150’s” This gives me about >5 lbs before I hit Overweight BMI.
    Lifetime high 238-240

    Feb Avg. 167.4
    Mar Avg. 168.3
    Last week of March: 167.2
    Successes:
    1. ALL of my recent battery of medical labs & tests are EXCELLENT. I’m fit & healthy.
Except my BMI is up over 24.9.

    2. I finally began taking my measurements weekly. I was able to compare them a few 2019 numbers & I remembered again how much my inches/clothing sizes improved as I got to 150-155. This has been motivating me.

    3. Think of my 10K steps, tracking, and calories as “My Job” now. Walking first thing each day. 3 meals + 1 optional snack.
    4. Shifted March 23 to 3 meals NO snacks. I’m 67, I don’t need snacks!

Struggles: My 5-year Maintenance Anniversary is 4.8 months from today. I remember reading that maintaining the first year is difficult, but there are still challenges at 3 years and 5 years. I promised myself I would “stay the course.”

I have 2.4 lbs still to lose.

    UPDATE:
    My PLAN:
    1. ♥️No restaurant meals Mar April May June: March 31 update: I may modify this to occasional restaurant meals if I continue to tow the line & lose. April 4 update: I am dieting 9 days (no restaurant foods) with a 10th day at maintenance level with one restaurant meal.
    2. ♥️I love my daily breakfast. Same thing
each day. Love it. Substituted strawberries for fuji apples. Reduces sugars & calories & better nutrition
    3. ♥️Lunch Changed to: This is my Main meal. Lunch turkey & cheese sandwich baby carrots nonfat latte
    4. ♥️Dinner Yes… Grilled chicken/fish/lean beef or bison & veg for dinner. Large apple

    ♥️Exercise - increasing back to

Success/Struggle: (same as last week) I am about 1 lb above goal weight though in my range. I would like to lose that extra lb but I'm having motivation problems. At least, I'm not gaining. I have been stuck with this extra lb for a while.

I have drifted down towards the lower end of my maintenance range and have no wish to get any thinner so I’m adjusting my calorie “budget”. Also, I was supposed to be on holiday this week – five days of eating hotel breakfasts and dinners, and snacks at lunches – but I had to move it to a later date because I’m waiting for this hip replacement op.
So, I will be having some treat days (note, NOT “cheat days”) this week. Started on Sunday when I had a cheesecake dessert after lunch – delish!.

Struggles: My 5-year Maintenance Anniversary is in 4 months. I remember reading that maintaining the first year is difficult, but there are still challenges at 3 years and 5 years. I promised myself I would “stay the course.”

I have 2.0 lbs still to lose.

Hi everyone, I am looking for accountability in maintenance.
I have a healthy BMI and I am using MFP to maintain my weight because otherwise I am always either on a diet or eating way too much. I want to start loving my body and taking care of it.

    Name: Alice
    Age: 39
    Height: 1m70
How long in maintenance: since February 2023
    Maintenance weight range: 66-68kg

Average weight recorded on 01 February 2023: 66,2kg
Average weight recorded for March 2023: 66,9kg

    Week ending:
    April 1: 67,6kg
    April 8: 67,6kg
    April 15: 67,6 kg
    April 22: 67,7kg
    April 29:

Successes/struggles of the week: I am vegetarian and I find it difficult to eat less fat and more proteins. I think may be this would help me feel more satisfied. I have started incorporate some plant based protein powder in my veggie soup. Tomorrow is pizza day at work this won't help !

    Hi Alice!
    Welcome to the thread!
I have been in maintenance for 7+ years and very much relate to you. I am also using MFP to maintain my weight because otherwise I am always either on a diet or eating way too much. I don't post my numbers due to highly fluctuating (+/- 7-10 lbs in a week) scale readings. I have a rare syndrome that I take meds/hormones for that cause water weight rises and falls.

    April 29:

Successes/struggles of the week: Still super busy these days both with my regular day job as well as my second job on the weekend. There still continues to be a pretty continuous decline in my average weights across each week, and I'm now down to the middle (mid-110s) of my maintenance range. Comparing to previous years, it looks like I've done some recomposition from my exercise/weight-lifting, and I've noticed that my workout performance has not been as good with my weight decreasing, so I've decided to bump my maintenance range up slightly. Based on my current trend of continuing to lose weight (likely due to the hours spent on my feet with my second job), I may need to actually adjust my calories upwards, but I'll give it another few weeks or so before deciding whether to do so.
