Hey everyone, is there anyone here with PKU with tips and ideas for weight loss? Both PKU diet and weight loss have been a struggle. What are some of the challenges you've faced and some of the things that has helped?

    Hey there! I have PKU and have successfully gone from 168lbs to 117lbs (: the biggest challenge for me was also diet. What helped me finally start losing weight was cutting out a ton of foods/drinks I was consuming regularly. Such as fast food, soda, pastas, chips, sweets, etc.. I can go into more detail of my whole routine if you’re still curious!

    I’m with maevxiv on this one! Decreasing the amount of times I eat out has helped me lose weight. I have Classic PKU, so my protein intake from food is about 7g/day. Also, increasing the amount of formula I’m drinking each day has helped curb my hunger. It’s not the best-tasting solution, but it does work! Increasing my formula intake has also allowed me to rely less on the “carb-y” foods that pack on the pounds. Hope this helps!
