I have been on my fitness pal for a few weeks now, at the start I was doing ok but now I have hit a brick wall has anyone got my ideas of how to help get rid of this weight, I’m not very active I walk the dog and go swimming. I now eat a lot healthier I have a lot of homemade meals and soups and try to stay under 1200 calories a day.

80% of weight loss is being in a calorie deficit. Exercising is good for you and will give you a few extra calories. You don't give your stats and the daily calorie goal that MFP gave you. Do you weigh and measure all food and drink? Do you use a digital food scale? Also, weight loss is like a rollercoaster, it has peaks and valleys. You won't lose the same amount every week and you will hit stalls.
If you want more help, give more information.0 -
You don’t indicate make or female…..and you’ve only been here about ten weeks.
Whoaaaa, Nelly!!!
First of all, congrats for sticking it out that long. That’s an accomplishment in itself.
Your brick wall could be any number of things. Period time, you flew on a plane (cabin pressure immediately adds eight pounds to me for about a week), long car drive, an extra salty soup (maybe you switched to a new broth or bouillon base?), even new exercise, changes in weather, illness ( hello hay fever and pollen season!).
Instead of freaking out, hang in there. I “plateaued” several times and each time had whooshes anywhere from 2-5 pounds OR had other intriguing experiences like my “batwings” disappearing overnight, or waking to find my butt totally collapsed one morning, and then nice and firm and “lifted” a couple days later.🤔 No joke.
You’re throwing a lot at your body in a short period of time. Give it a chance to catch up with you. If you’re like me, it had decades of meh who cares followed by a lotta hurryin’up to catch up.
As long as you’re sticking to plan, accurately weighing, and logging everything, mathematically it will all eventually shake out.
If for some reason it doesn’t, well congrats, you’ve found maintenance and you simply adjust from there.0
