Thoughts on TDEE

I lost one kg this week, do you think I should recalculate my TDEE or should I wait until I lose a bit more? When often do we need to recalculate?

1kg is not going to make a big difference. For me (5ft5 woman, 60kg, quite active) that's about 15 calories less per day.

. . . but if you're currently less than 100kg, or trying to lose slower than 1kg/week, then maybe increase calories a little - although 1 week is a little too soon to tell. IMO, best to go on with a certain regimen for 4-6 weeks, then look at the average loss per week, and adjust if necessary based on that average.

It's normal to either lose a little faster right at first (drop in water retention, less food residue on its way to becoming waste); or conversely to lose a little slower at first (new exercise causing water retention, or higher fiber diet causing more food residue).

4-6 weeks ought to give most people a decent feel for average loss rate, though adult women who aren't in menopause yet should probably compare body weight at the same relative point in at least 2 different monthly cycles when calculating average weekly loss.

Calculators just give you statistical average values; your own results will give you individual data to rely on, which is better.

Other than that, maybe recalculate every 10 pounds or so down.
