Hello I’m new

I’m new to the app and I’m never really joined into a forum before. So I’m just going to tell you a little bit myself I’m 63 I’m trying to get back in shape the past five years have been difficult. I didn’t know I had sleep apnea and I had Covid . I’m used to being about 140 pounds I’m 200 pounds I have my energy back. I’ve started a workout program at TruFit Idaho and it seems to be working. They suggested this app for me and I keep looking at my profile and it says no friends I like friends. I like to Encourage people and I like to be encouraged.

Hi, @phaysa2, and welcome to the MFP Community!

I'm an oldie (to the world, and to MFP - age 67, and in year 7+ on MFP now maintaining after weight loss). I'm probably not a good candidate to be an MFP weight loss buddy, partly because I'm at a different phase, and partly because I'm not very active on the MFP friend side of things (more of a Community forum kind of gal, I guess. ;) ).

You might be able to (virtually) meet some others our age on this thread:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10718336/60-yrs-and-up#latest

Don't be dismayed if you open that up and see old posts. Like any long running thread here, the new posts are at the end, on high-numbered pages. You can jump straight there with the page-number or arrow clicks near the bottom of the page. It's still very active.

Beyond that, there are lots of groups and challenges over in the Challenges part of the Community, direct link here:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/challenges

You can read the intros for those, and maybe find one (or more) that suit you to join in. Those are a great way to meet like-minded people and get support. Don't afraid of those with mixed age groups. After having been here for a few years, it seems to me that we all have much more in common - issues, strategies to try, challenges - as we lose weight, and not that much that's age-specific.

    Wishing you much success!
