This answer about error in the data bases has gotten my to think why I would find something better when this membership is up.

The database is crowd-sourced, i.e., entered by regular users such as you and me. That means it's easy to add new foods without requesting an admin to do it, and the database is huge as a result.

The huge database means that it's rarely (IME) necessary to enter new foods, because most often someone else will already have entered the food.

On the negative side, not every MFP user is meticulous about entering foods accurately, and sometimes the entry was correct X years ago when someone typed it in, but the product has since changed; or the food product has a different formulation so different details in the country where the person acquired the food (since MFP is used internationally); or something like that.

You can find sites/apps that more tightly control entry to the database, but the tradeoff is likely to be a less comprehensive database. Your call about whether that's better or worse.

What most of us do here who want to be more precise is check entries for accuracy the first time we use them, and either pick one that matches the product label (or other authoritative source), or correct the entry we find. Once we log a food, it's in our recent/frequent foods, and will come up first on searches, as long as we keep eating that thing semi-regularly. We don't need to verify every single thing forever.

That may not be the answer you wanted, but that's the state of affairs, IMU. You might truly be happier with a more tightly controlled (but probably less comprehensive) database in a different app. I've been happy enough with this one to stick around for almost 8 years, succeed at weight loss and maintenance so far. YMMV.

It appears that the extra calories you "earned" from exercise (254 calories) are not being reflected in the overall goal -- i.e., not being added to your daily base goal to reflect a daily "as-adjusted" goal as is normal.
