Can someone tell me about the premiium version? It is a lot of money and I want to make sure I don't waste my money. I need to track my food, my carbs (keep them low) and track my exercise and my blood sugars

Potentially interesting, if you are American:
    - if you want to track net carbs (and don't want to mentally subtract fiber from carbs)
    - if you want to use the barcode scanner instead of typing in the name of your foods

Personally, I don't think you need it, free should be fine.

I paid the year in advance and will try it out and see
I think currently they have it at US$20 per month or US$80 for the whole year and there might be some coupons online to use as well...
Not really sure what the perks are as opposed to the free version but I know that if I pay for it there will be extra motivation to make use off it... good luck ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think there is a one month free trial offered...if so, try it out.

I can track carbs, food and exercise on the free version.

As far as blood sugar, I could create my own "New Measurement" for that in the free version. Go to, "Check In >Track Additional Measurements," and create a new category here: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/measurements/change

It would then be viewable in line graph form in "Reports."

I don't see any value in Premium, for myself.

I would try the free version first, see what obstacles you encounter. I have used both the free and the premium. I am tracking sodium, potassium, and protein. I can figure out how to do most of what I want with the free version. When I run into something that requires the premium version, I sign up for a month.

Just want to add that if OP checks blood sugar multiple times a day, they will need to create a new "measurement" category for each of those times (e.g., waking, post-breakfast, post-lunch, or whatever), because otherwise each subsequent log of blood sugar in the same day will erase the previous logged value for that day.

it's a lot less expensive than negative health outcomes. 80 a year, comes out to less than $10 a month.

Strong first post...lol. You can do most of what you can do with premium with the free version of the app. I don't really need to pay $80 per year so that I can have my macro targets set in grams instead of percentages...if they're set in percentages (free version) it still displays the grams. I'm also good enough at maths to figure out net carbs if I was so inclined.
