Adjusting calories intake with exercise

Hi. I’m new using the app. Just a week now. I have my calorie intake set at 1200/day per my doctor. I don’t exercise; at least I haven’t added that element yet, but I have the app linked to my step counter on my iPhone. Today I noticed as I’m doing my normal walking around and it’s counting my steps the MFP app is adjusting my calorie intake because it considers my steps as exercise. Does anyone know if I can still link my steps to the app, but not have it adjust calories for me? I’m trying to stay in a calorie deficit. Thank you.

You're getting extra calories for being more active than the activity level you selected on MFP.
Providing the adjustment is reasonable, you will still be in a calorie deficit.
What are your stats (weight, height) and how high is the adjustment and for how many steps?
Syncing a device and not getting a calorie adjustment from it is a premium feature.0 -
If you aren't a premium member, then the only way to not have your activity increase your daily intake totals, you'd have to unlink your fitness device (or phone). You could use the notes section to input your daily step count if you wanted to keep track of it.0
