fat gain or water weight gain

i weighed myself this morning and to my horror i put on 1.5kgs im shocked because i didnt eat every much the previous day low calories but i did have some homemade chicken soup which had chicken stock in it which is loaded with salt and i did use quite a lot of it i also had some chicken bites as well do you think my 1.5kgs gain was due to water weight caused by the salt in the soup as i said i didnt eat much the previous day it cant be fat gain can it? how long will it take for me to lose the 1.5kgs i put on if it was water weight?

Quick (dat to day) weight fluctuations are more likely to be water weight fluctuations.
Slow changes (over weeks and months) are more likely to be changes in fat mass.

So just wait it out a few days.

Did you eat about 15,000 calories yesterday?

    If not, it's water.

1.5kg of fat is 11500 kcal. What do you think?

An increase in salt usually means an increase in weight. It's water retention, not fat, and should fall off in a couple of days, at most a week, if you go back to eating your normal diet
