New to counting calories, eating healthy, down a pants size

I have eaten healthier options and have lowered my sugar to under 50mg a day if possible, no junk food, no soda, no dairy heavy, high protein options. I have lost almost 16 lbs in one month. I feel full and I’m wondering if I lost weight to fast but I feel absolutely great. Normal caloric intake was 4000 calories + down to 2200

If you're feeling good, that's what really matters. Fast weight loss at the beginning is not uncommon, just remember that it will slow down, and that's ok.

Something in the range of losing 0.5-1% of current weight per week is a reasonably conservative goal. If someone is severely obese to the point that bodyweight itself creates health risks, then faster can be OK, but ideally that faster loss would be under close medical monitoring for deficiencies or health risks. For sure, I'd be inclined consider eating more if alongside fast loss you start to feel otherwise unexplained fatigue, weakness, feeling cold all the time, recurrent faintness or shakiness, or that sort of thing.

Sollyn is right that loss can be fast at first (largely due to some water weight rebalancing), then slow down on its own. If it continues at a fast rate, it can be worth considering whether the rate (and the tactics needed to achieve it) is sustainable for the many weeks to months it can take to lose a meaningful total amount of weight (even when losing fast). If in doubt, maybe check in with your doctor about what's a good loss rate for you, given the totality of your health history.

    Best wishes for continuing success!
