Belly Shape

Does anyone else have my same belly shape from the side view? It bothers me so much. I’m 5’3” 114lbs. 4 kids. Youngest is 7 years old. I’ve had this shape since having 2nd baby. I do have a diastasis of 2cm at belly button and 1.5cm below bellybutton. Not anything that is even all that uncommon I don’t think. Nor does it cause any doming for me. Some websites say it’s normal, some say it’s a mild diastasis. I’m trying to pinpoint what my goal should be here. Is this just fat? Do I need to lose to the very end of normal BMI to get rid of it? That would put me at 107lbs which seems pretty small. I’ve tried the whole lifting heavy weights as well but my stomach never shifted its shape. I do also look like this first thing in the morning, just a bit smaller. Shape stays the same though. I know there’s a uterus in there as well. It just seems like my stomach looks way too big for my weight.

Looking at your overall shape you just tend to hold fat in your belly and Thighs. The remedy is the same for all forms of fatloss which is eating less however I think you would benefit from a solid weight training\conditioning plan rather than just dropping calories.3

You could probably work on improving your posture and strengthening your abdominal/core muscles. I don't honestly think losing any more weight would help.
Stomach Vacuums may be a good place to start.
Have a look at this link, it is aimed at diastasis but covers a wide range of core exercises. Of course some of the shape of your core is genetic so with all the will in the world you may not get a flat abdomen, but you should be able to improve it.

Aah, found it. Here is an excellent tread by a member of the community whom I, and many others, highly respect.

I think it may just be your shape (I’m the same). It could be compounded by where you store fat (I’m a good old pear shape but you look like you don’t store fat on your legs), your posture / muscles and the fact that you have carried four babies. For reference - as you asked if anyone had the same shape as you - I’m just over 5’3, weigh c122 pounds and my lower tummy has always protruded. For comparison’s sake, here’s a pic of me flexing. And here’s me breathing in and bracing hard - I bet if you focused a bit on your posture your tummy would disappear too. Oh - and I personally don’t think you need to lose any more weight.
