My lack of progress

Heaviest weight 164.0 lbs
today's weight 160.4
goal weigh 130 - 140 (depending on how I look if I get this low).

I've been at this for a number of years. I did manage to reach 148.0 lbs about a year ago, but it all came back. Trouble is, the older I get (79) the harder it is to lose, and to say 'no' to snacks. So - here I go again!

Maybe "no" to snacks is hard, but what about . . . different snacks (maybe lower calorie, maybe higher nutritional contribution)? More daily life activity ** to "earn" more snacks? Working on strength exercise to increase strength/muscle mass (slightly raising "metabolism" but more significantly making it more easy and natural to to more movement in every context so burn more calories daily)? Adding fun new exercise to your routine? (Miserable slogging exercise is optional; any fun movement burns more calories than sitting in the recliner.)

I feel like at our age (I'm 67), we're pretty wily, know our own strengths, challenges, preferences and such very well, including how to game them to accomplish big goals via little steps over a period of time. Most of us have done that more than once, to get an education, build a career, create a nice home, learn complicated hobby/craft skills, and more. Managing our weight can use those same skills and self-insight, I think.

For me, being at a healthy weight (for 7+ years now, after previous decades of obesity) has been a huge quality of life improvement. Lots of different tactics can contribute to getting there. I'd bet you can find yours.

    I'm cheering for you!
