How can I stick with low carb, but still try to get to my calorie goal?

I"m not doing keto per se, just trying to stay under 40-50 carbs daily. I can never seem to get to my calorie goal though. I don't know what other items to add to my diet that have enough calories, but not any carbs! Bacon is the first thing that came to my mind, but I can't have that every day......

Try nuts, nut butters without added sugar. Eggs.

Fattier cuts of meat. Full fat dairy. Eggs. Cheese.

If your not doing keto, then there's really no need to be that low in carbs. If it's for satiation and to control your sugar craving so you don't overeat start with the 40-50 g's of carbs, then move up to see where your limits are. Whole food is basically the foundation of low carb, so keep doing that and if your going to consume a starch try and make it a whole food. Personally I like quinoa, whole grain basmati, chick peas, potato. Cheers.

This is the exact reason that certain diets that cut out almost all of a macro nutrient are usually felt to be not great. Bc you are highly restricting your carb intake, you are not getting adequate nutrition/calories.

Why are you trying to keep your carbs so low? Unless there's a medical reason to do so...you do not need to do this to lose weight.

You've mentioned not wanting to eat something like bacon (a calorie dense food) everyday....but you have to increase your calorie intake with one other other two macros (protein or fat) in order to make up for the calories you are not getting from carbs. 1 gram of fat has more calories than 1 gram of protein so it'll be easier by adding fat.

But again, there is no need to highly restrict your carbs like that in order to lose weight.

Fat...keto is very low carb and HIGH fat. Most people I know who do keto get around 70-75% of their calories from dietary fat. 40-50 grams of carbs per day is a keto level of carb intake. "Low carb" as a generality will include anything from around 150g or less of carbs. Of course, none of this is remotely necessary to lose weight, so if it's difficult and hard to sustain it's probably not a great dietary protocol for you.

That low of carbs is keto. Try upping the fats. Nuts, avacado, etc.

What @kenhepting said. That is keto. Just try eating more nuts, nut butters, seeds, dairy, avocados, coconut milk (think curry). And yes, you can eat bacon every day. However, most people don't want to. One of the reasons people don't tend to stick with it long term. Oh, and pour oil on everything. Oil is 100 calories per tablesoon.
