Who is this person in the mirror?

It’s crazy I know, and I feel so ungrateful; but after losing 110 lbs (30 more to go) I’m very uncomfortable looking in the mirror. I don’t recognize that face. It looks nothing like the women I have met there every morning for so many years. She’s not ugly. Just not me. I think it’s why I’ve been eating things I shouldn’t, effectively sabotaging my own weight loss lately. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have experienced this in the past with major weight loss for me.

It takes your mind every bit as long, sometimes longer, to recognize your weight loss and the strange image starring back at you in the mirror! Mine has more to do with lack of self love, uncontrolled emotion, and not believing that I can be different and better to myself. This has been a long process to accept that I can be different and love what I see!

My total respect to you for your journey so far! Please don't sabotage your hard work! Figure out what is triggering you emotionally to overeat. Re-access your issues and really see that beautiful person looking back at you!

Best of wishes to you...keep going!

I also felt this way.. More than a few times in my life. But its time to love and appreciate yourself for all this amazing work you did. Just like you did the work for your favorite boss. And YOU are the boss.
You did this work to become stronger and healthier. You are still going to be the amazing person you’ve always been on the inside. That will never change. Only now, you are stronger, & more powerful. And in the event of another zombie apocalypse, you can kick some zombie *kitten*.
