Foam Roller

I run around 5 days a week for 5km and haven't really had an issue.
I started back playing baseball last weekend and mother of God my quads are absolutely killing me the entire time I play. I know it's from all the stopping/starting as well as over extending my muscles. Just finished my third game of the year and I was dying the entire time.
Anyone have success with a foam roller for these types of issues? Gonna incorporate more stretches targeting the area as well.
