I don't know that specific type and what number you see, but beans do tend to have a high amount of fiber.
I recommend cross-checking with the USDA database (Legacy entries) for whole foods.1 -
Why are you wanting to track fiber, i.e., are you trying to get relatively little fiber because of some health condition, or trying to increase fiber because you aren't reaching healthful minimums?
In general, if you check your food database choices against a reliable source the first time you use them (USDA or the product label), the ones you use often will stay in your recent/frequent foods on MFP and come up first when you search.
Yes, black beans have a lot of fiber - any brand. Check the label on your can of beans against what the MFP food database says. The food label is about as accurate an estimate as you're going to get.
If you're trying to increase fiber, the best food route is including plenty of veggies, fruits and whole grains in your routine eating patterns (and those have other potential health benefits). If you're healthy (no health condition that limits fiber intake), reaching a total amount that's higher than the basic recommendations generally won't be a problem.
However, it's usually best to increase fiber intake gradually, rather than a really big increase all at once. There's some gut and gut microbe adaptation that needs to occur when fiber increases, and the big jump approach can result in digestive distress (of various types, depending - any or multiple of gas, constipation, diarrhea, cramps, nausea, etc.). Alongside increased fiber, be sure to get enough fluids (no need to go crazy, but enough), plus get some fats in your diet, too. Sometimes people here increase fiber a lot all at once, cut out too much of fats because they're calorie dense, maybe continue old/bad habits of under-hydrating, and suffer from that combination.1 -

What does "way high" means. 1/2 cup of Goya Black Beans have 6 grams of fiber...that's pretty normal for legumes.2 -
I too want to track my fiber intake on a daily basis. Why is that not possible in the App??0

It is possible to track fiber in the app, although it looks like you have to go to the website to adjust your settings of which nutrients show up in your diary. Doing so will affect your diary in the app.2 -
did anyone have success adjusting their settings to track fiber? I can't figure it out lol0

Yes, in web MFP. (It may be possible in the phone/tablet app, but I don't know exactly where, because I have premium and it is a little different. Maybe someone else can explain/show that.)
Click on Food in the top bar, then Settings in the secondary menu below that. Change one of the drop-downs.
