My "Why" has changed!

Hi everyone. Unfortunately I have taken time off and fell back into bad habits (eating horribly and very limited activity). However my wife and I welcomed our son in March 2022. He's just over a year and walking/running everywhere.

I am determined NOT to be known as the Overweight Dad...or that out of shape Dad! He is my new "Why"!! I'm not only getting into shape for myself. I am doing this for him!!

One thing I've always admired is the support of the MFP community! You help hold me accountable and hearing your life stories provides me such inspiration! My first official weigh-in will be tomorrow morning. Stay tuned everyone...there will be "less" to come!!

The journey starts now!

There’s a post here by another fairly new dad. He heard his kid fall down the stairs, got up to run from his desk, fell under his own weight, and broke his ankle. That really registered with me when I read it. That had to have been traumatic on so many levels.

I’m planning to be the best grandma ever, now that I’ve shed the weight. Very much looking forward to playground time next week now that she’s walking and running. That versus the outlook just a four or five years ago, priceless- and meaningful.

Wishing you much success. Hope you’ll be a frequent visitor to the boards!
