Rice.....help!!

OK, I've got a pack of Aldi Savoury Rice, it's a 120g Packet. I've entered 1/2 a packet on the tracker and it says 79 calories but on the packet it says 1/2 packet is 210 calories! I'm new to this, so not sure how I should be entering this! If anyone could help I'd be really grateful. Thank you!

Is this uncooked rice? Then it's the higher number - all uncooked rice is around 350kcal per 100gr.

Are you certain you found the correct match to the flavor Savoury Rice you hit on in the data base?
I Found one that had something like 226 calories for 120 grams ... but even that doesn't match the label .. which on my package says 526 calories per 100 grams for Everyday Essentials Golden Vegetable Savoury Rice ...
... You will find many entries in the data base and not all of them are accurate or a match. You can compare what you see online for the same product/description to match the label on your package.

I am assuming that this is a side dish that has dried veggies, seasonings, etc included as part of the mix so it is not just pure raw rice. Is the label for "As Packaged" or "As Prepared"? Preparation will often include adding butter, milk, etc which will increase the total calories.

I would definitely trust the package label, not the mfp database

Foods on MFP are entered via crowd sourcing.

You have to make sure entries you choose are accurate.

Many items are incorrect due to confusion, sloppy entry, and, sadly, users trying to fool themselves or others by entering a slice of chocolate cake for 40 calories. I’ve seen more of that than you can shake a stick at.

Garbage in, garbage out applies to both data, and what we stick in our mouths. 😇
