Is there a way to add my foods to a general list w/o designating a meal?

I just want a general list of my foods to choose from when planning my meals. Right now all I see is that when adding a food, I have to designate a meal. It then adds that food to an existing planned meal.

I'm not aware of being able to do that, but some people will go back to a day in the past and add them all to one day before you were logging. Then they will show up in your food list.1

You could just log all your food on one meal, then the whole list would be there, but I think there's a limit to the number of foods saved into the "Recents" or "Frequent" lists in the meals on the FOOD diary...it seems to be 125 foods per meal, max. Then they drop off the list.
You can also create new foods for the database and they would then be forevermore in your "My Foods" list, but there isn't a way to directly log from My Foods into the FOOD diary...at least not on the web version. When I have to use a My Foods entry, I copy/paste the name of it into the meal on the FOOD diary "Add food" page. If you are creative when you name the food, it could help. It will show up in a general database search and can be added from the Add food page directly that way.
The way I deal with it is a combination of the above and I also put the common Breakfast foods in Breakfast (for example, eggs or oatmeal) and the common treat foods in their own meal slot (desserts, smoothies, jellies and jams, sugar, honey etc. all go into a named "Treats" meal slot.) That way I can find things like "Hamburger" in my "Dinner" slot pretty easily.
It's a little clunky in some of the functions, for sure. 2005 site creation date.0

Thanks for your help. Just wish there was a simple way to add certain foods from the database to My Foods once I have verified the info is correct. Too often information submitted has been incorrect. I would like to have a list of my verified foods at the ready when I plan meals.
