Hi everyone. I'm Summarah. I used MyFitnessPal long long ago, and I'm returning cuz I really could use a bit of motivation and inspiration to make my overall health a priority. I'm at a healthy weight (according to my doctor), but I feel like I have too much body fat and my diet and eating habits aren't that great. Not sure how many folks will see this post, but if anyone has suggestions on groups and/or challenges to join, that would be great! Thanks. Looking forward to this. ~ Summarah

    Hello!

If you're at a healthy weight, but wanting to lose some fat and look trimmer, good odds are that your best tools are on the activity side of the equation. For most people, progressive strength training (augmented by reasonable nutrition) is the most efficient route.

There's a good thread here about "recomposition", which is staying roughly the same weight, but gradually adding muscle and gradually losing fat. Since muscle is more compact, that makes a person's body smaller and tighter (also, as a bonus, more functional and capable).

As far as challenges, there's a bunch of them in the Challenges area - both weight loss and fitness ones. You can read some of those, find one(s) that look good, and join in. There are also some workout self-accountability threads in the Fitness and Exercise section, if you want something a little less structured.

Best wishes for success with your goals!
