Calorie intake

Does this app look at my goals and then tell me how many calories I need to eat to reach my goal? My caloric intake on the app stays the same regardless numbers I put in. Thanks

It looks at your personal stats and the desired rate of weight loss/gain (or maintenance), yes.

    However:
    - it doesn't take into account your exercise goal (exercise is meant to be logged in your diary when you do it, which adjusts your calorie goal)
    - there is a minimum of 1200 calories for women and 1500 calories for men, to ensure adequate nutrition

So most likely you are choosing a weight loss rate that is too aggressive for your weight/activity level, giving you a goal of 1200?

Numbers in where? The only thing this calculator takes into account is your stats (height, weight, age, sex) and your desired rate of loss/maintenance/gain and your activity level for which it then applies an algorithm based on population statistics to arrive at a calorie target.

It does not take into account anything you put input in regards to your exercise goals as far as adjustments to your calorie needs...those goals are just for you. The way MFP is designed is for you to have an established activity level based on your day to day hum drum...ie office jockey sitting at a desk most of the day, etc. With MFP you log intentional exercise after the fact and get additional calories to account for and to fuel that additional activity that isn't accounted for in your activity level.
